Weekly Accountability

Hi, everyone! It’s that time again! Weekly updates delivered every Saturday! Or Sunday, as the case may be. Wow, I’m off to a terrible start this year.

Completed Projects

None!

Goal Updates

I had no goals this year, but the good thing fell through at the last minute, so mostly I’ve reoriented towards trying to restructure my yearly plan, such as it was, and now I’m waiting on others to see if I can move forward or need to redo certain steps. I expect that still takes me into March, though, to get everything sorted.

Writing Updates

This Week’s Fiction Wordcount: What even is writing.

This Week’s Non-Fiction Wordcount: What even is writing.

I think I’m going to stop tracking the Let’s Read Academics posts, which is most of the nonfiction because clearly they’re giving me a sense of accomplishment when I write these posts that is not useful to me. Also I’m bad at tracking things and this actually makes it easier. Let me know if you’d like me to keep tracking them, though!

Life And Other Such Important Matters

As I mentioned above, the good thing fell through, so it’s back to square 1 for me. That said, I have been working diligently on getting a TEFL certificate and have reached the stage where I need to do the assignments rather than the online tests, so I expect to know whether I get a certificate by the end of February if not sooner. There is some progress! It’s just small and slow.

Stand-out Positive Moment

I DID NOT FAIL MY FIRST ASSIGNMENT ON THE FIRST TRY. Which, fine, is a mixed blessing because now I’m not sure if I can redo it and improve on what I did, but I was also fully expecting to fail outright and did not. Also this type of lesson is, not going to lie, the hardest type of lesson for me to plan. So we’ll see! But there are more things to be done and then… Well, we’ll see where we go from there.

Weekly Accountability

Hi, everyone! New year, new weeks, new accountability posts! Now on Saturdays! Patrons will already know about some of the scheduling changes, so you can find the details down below under “Life and Other Such Important Matters” as not to fill Patron inboxes with effectively the same information on top twice.

Completed Projects

I have none yet! It’s January 4th. The closest I’ve come to finishing anything is some of the books I was reading.

Goal Updates

Honestly, my goal is to get through January and February right now. Good things should be on the horizon, but first is getting there.

Writing Updates

This Week’s Fiction Wordcount: 163

This Week’s Non-Fiction Wordcount: 1,831

Promises2: WORDS ACTUAL WORDS [flops happily]

Life And Other Such Important Matters

I promised you updates, so! Not getting into too much detail – because reasons – my life is currently in masses of upheaval. I was always going to restructure the schedule in 2020, to be fair, but right now things are in massive flux and if they all work out the way they ought then it’ll be a really amazing thing all around. Just they’re also in flux and that is a bad combination with anxiety.

Anyway! Changes to expect! If you’re a Patron, you mostly already know, as I mentioned, so I’ll just summarise:

WIP posts have moved to Wednesday.

Round-up posts have moved to Saturday.

Let’s Read Academics posts has moved to Friday and will go on hiatus until offline life settles down, so… probably around February/March.

And also because I have no idea what my internet access will be like: the round-up posts will also likely be more sporadic update things and lack this lovely clear structure. The updates will also likely not occur on the website blog until things settle this year due to, well, circumstances. (Short version: I may be stuck with only a phone for internet access for who knows how long, so… Argh.)

Stand-out Positive Moment

I will say… Having amazing and awesome friends. Because I have amazing and awesome friends and I do not mention this nearly often enough, but I worry people will get all embarrassed and/or feel like I’m saying it too often.
